In addition to enjoying rock climbing and hiking with his family and border collie mix, Lucy, he also enjoys playing ice hockey, soccer, and traveling. Dr. Arnold first joined the Raintree family in 2008 and in addition to practicing traditional veterinary medicine is also AAVMA Certified in Veterinary Acupuncture. He serves on the Curriculum Committee for the CSU Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program. You may see him on campus giving presentations to the Pre-vet club or meeting with graduate students on what life is like as a practicing veterinarian. John also started a mentoring program at Raintree that gives future veterinarians an idea of what life is like at the hospital.

Nina Garbino, DVM

Nina Garbino, DVM

Dr. Nina Garbino was born in Huntington Beach, California. After realizing that she could not live as a pirate on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland at the age of five, she decided she would become a veterinarian. Luckily, her family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, when she was six years old, where one of the best veterinary schools in the country is located. She obtained her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and DVM degree at Colorado State. After graduation, she completed an intensive rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Alameda East in Denver. Upon completion of her internship, she moved back to Northern Colorado and worked at Four Seasons Veterinary Specialists as an ER doctor. She was then given the wonderful opportunity to join the Raintree family (Drs. Arnold and Robinson used to see her pets before she was a vet!) which she enthusiastically accepted. Nina loves emergency and critical care medicine. Her career interests include oncology, internal medicine, nutrition, and neurology. She is planning on becoming certified in veterinary acupuncture, and exploring alternative therapies for pets such as Eastern Medicine and herbology. In her free time, Nina enjoys being with her husband, Ryan, and enjoying the outdoors here in Colorado. Hiking, biking, snowshoeing, traveling, and enjoying Colorado’s craft breweries are some of their favorite pastimes. Nina and Ryan are owned by two grumpy old cats, Oy and Fry, and a one-eyed kitten named Noodle (aka. Turd) who alternates between being the best kitten ever and terrorizing everyone in the house.
